ALEX CALDER – PRINCIPAL
Alex started his career in civil engineering in 2000, but once he got his hands on surveying equipment, he was hooked and never looked back. Alex leads a large survey team in our Redwood City office and believes the top talent which BKF employs are one of the reasons for their success, as well as the assertive spirit of many of the team members. “Many of us on the team have the same driven personalities and are fueled by challenging work.” His team is at the forefront of providing atypical land surveying services and have focused on the profession’s rapidly-changing technology uses. SIMON NORTH – PRINCIPAL
Simon joined BKF in 2000 and has been dedicated to growing his knowledge and team at BKF. He has worked on countless notable projects in the Bay Area throughout his tenure at BKF, including the Howard Terminal Stadium project, Salesforce Tower, and Brooklyn Basin, just to name a few. Passionate about his work, Simon says that although his job is challenging, he is rewarded by solving problems and being able to see a tangible product of his work when it is built. ISAAC KONTORVSKY – PRINCIPAL
As a licensed Civil Engineer from Venezuela with broad experience in construction, Isaac moved to Silicon Valley excited about the industry’s potential at the intersection of innovation, technology, and sustainable practices in land development projects. He believes in going above and beyond whenever possible to connect with his clients and with staff members on his teams across BKF’s offices. “Ultimately, success is much more gratifying when it’s accomplished as a team effort.” Something that people may not know about Isaac is that he loves to select, buy, and roast his own coffee beans! MEET OUR NEWEST VICE PRESIDENT
PATRICK CHAN – VICE PRESIDENT
Patrick leads a team of engineers who are working on a variety of private and public development projects which are pushing the limits of today’s technology. They are currently assisting in the design of test tracks for autonomous vehicles, and creating efficient infrastructure for charging electric vehicles. One of the things he values most at BKF is time spent with his team members. “We make it a priority to spend time with one another,” he says. This includes social sports games, gatherings outside work, and weekly team meetings where training is provided by senior staff. KEVIN WONG – Associate
Since 2004, Kevin has built a diverse public and private portfolio consisting of school, residential, commercial, industrial and streetscape projects. He currently manages his team in BKF’s Oakland office. Outside of work, Kevin enjoys photography, playing softball and watching sports. Read more…
