BKF Engineers is excited to welcome Rueben Rodriguez, PE, TE, to our team as an Engineering Manager! With over a decade of experience managing transportation projects across the Bay Area, Rueben brings expertise in transportation design, pedestrian/bicycle improvements, traffic operations, and safety. He joins Marcelo Cosentino’s group, contributing to innovative transportation solutions for our South Bay clients.
Rueben strengthens our network of BKF team members who are proud Cal Poly San Luis Obispo alumni. Originally from the Central Valley, Rueben graduated from Sanger High School and was inspired by drafting and woodshop classes to pursue a career in engineering. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly and later, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation Systems from San Jose State University.
His journey to BKF began through a teaming opportunity, and he’s excited about the mentorship and growth opportunities ahead. Beyond his project work, he is an active member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and the American Society of Civil Engineers, participating in the Younger Member Forum. Rueben also dedicates time to K-12 outreach, introducing engineering to students with interactive games like building toothpick bridges and dry pasta towers, inspiring the next generation of engineers.
“We’re glad to have Rueben as a part of the transportation team!” notes Marcelo Cosentino, BKF Associate Principal. “He has shown great success in his project delivery and we’re excited to engage him in future projects with us.”
