South San Francisco Traffic Advisory Committee (TAC)

BKF is providing on-call traffic and transportation design and planning services for the City of South San Francisco Traffic Advisory Committee (TAC), which is comprised of City staff from their Planning, Engineering, Public Works, Fire, and Police departments. The TAC was developed to review various transportation related requests from the City’s residents and business owners. BKF supports the TAC as subject matter experts and is responsible for preliminarily reviewing and analyzing requests, leading monthly TAC meetings, and developing appropriate work orders, response letters, and related deliverables.

Generally, typical monthly requests include optimizing signal timings, reviewing vehicular sight lines, modifying signage and striping, assessing vehicular speeds, conducting safety audits, analyzing all-way stop and/or signal warrants, installing and/or upgrading crosswalks, and installing intersection daylighting. Additionally, this on-call service enables BKF to provide further consulting services outside of the TAC, including but not limited to conducting traffic impact assessments, creating or updating transportation policies and standards, reviewing other consultants’ transportation deliverables (such as PS&Es), and traffic simulation efforts.
