BKF, the ENR West 2026 California Design Firm of the Year, welcomes Matthew Gollan!
Matthew joins BKF as the firm continues to expand its Transportation Construction Management capabilities across Southern California, leveraging its established presence in Orange County, the Inland Empire, Los Angeles, San Diego, Ventura County, and the Central Coast to better serve transportation agencies throughout the region. His experience will strengthen BKF’s ability to support agencies through every phase of project delivery, bringing deep technical expertise, a collaborative approach, and extensive knowledge of the Southern California market.
With more than 20 years of experience in construction management, civil engineering, and executive leadership, Matthew has led multidisciplinary teams delivering highway, bridge, rail and transit, port and marine, and aviation projects throughout California. He has overseen strategic growth initiatives, managed large construction management programs, and directed projects representing more than $1B in construction value.
A Southern California resident, Matthew has built lasting relationships with local agencies, counties, and cities and understands the unique needs of the region’s transportation clients. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, he spent seven years in the Chicago area before relocating to Southern California to oversee railroad grade separation projects in Los Angeles. He later led Southern California construction management operations for a global engineering design firm before serving as Deputy Division Manager for the West Coast, overseeing a team of approximately 100 construction management professionals supporting projects across California.
