The fact that Mona, an engineering manager in our Redwood City office, was good at math and physics at a young age was only partly the reason she decided to embark on an engineering career. She was mainly motivated by witnessing the effects of major earthquake in her home country of Iran. Understanding that design can improve daily life and save lives, she felt civil engineering would be a great way to use her aptitude in a way that is productive for society.
Mona joined BKF in 2015 and since that time has worked on a variety of projects, including those in mixed-use, commercial, residential, and transportation. She enjoys seeing projects from early stages of entitlements and design through construction, and is especially appreciative of the people in her team who go out of their way to help one another by sharing experiences and expertise in order to assist in moving a project forward.
Mona admits that she can’t live without coffee and besides travel, her favorite pastime is entertaining friends and family.
