Women of BKF | Kedi Mei

Kedi Mei’s journey with BKF began in the summer of 2001, during her freshman year in college, when she secured an intern position. Little did she know that this opportunity would pave the way for a long-lasting and impactful career, starting in 2006 when she joined BKF full time and now works in Jeff Wang’s transportation group. She loves to work on all kinds of projects, especially projects where she gets to witness them being constructed and completed. For example, she witnessed the Palo Alto Pedestrian Overcrossing Bridge from the construction phase to completion as she commutes to work on Route 101 every day. The same goes for the Facebook Pedestrian Overcrossing Bridge as she drives by it every weekend when she visits her parents.

“It’s a great reminder that I’ve contributed to iconic projects and made my community a better place to live, not only for myself but for my family and friends too.”

She cherishes the bonds formed with colleagues, attending weddings, family gatherings, and even sharing the joys of parenthood through kids’ playdates. These bonds, on top of weekly lunches with the team, reinforce the sense of camaraderie that has defined her experience at BKF. Beyond her career, Kedi enjoys exploring the world of science with her son, visiting renowned Bay Area museums like the Exploratorium, California Academy of Sciences, CuriOdyssey, and Chabot Space and Science Center. Kedi’s gratitude is boundless, especially toward her parents, who immigrated to the USA, worked tirelessly, and provided her with opportunities for a brighter future.
