Women of BKF | Christine Gurske

After interning with BKF in 2008 while a student at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, Christine Gurske found that our firm was a perfect fit for her and she joined the Walnut Creek staff shortly thereafter. Now an engineering manager, she works on a variety of projects including K-12, residential, and mixed-use projects.

Growing up, her father was an electrical contractor, so when Christine had the opportunity to tour some of his completed projects, she jumped at the chance and was fascinated to see the tangible end product of his work. That exposure, combined with a fondness for math and science in school, led her to an eventual career in civil engineering. It was important to her that her life’s work involved problem solving, as well as making a contribution to the communities in which she belonged. Christine enjoys the variety of projects which come her way at BKF, as well as the staff members she collaborates with daily. Her husband and young children are also top priority and spending time with them outdoors; whether it’s a bike ride, looking for ducks, exploring, or just playing with the garden hose, finds her at her happiest.
