Sam Potts, P.E., is named one of ASCE’s 2026 New Faces of Civil Engineering

BKF and MNS are proud to celebrate Sam Potts, P.E., on being named one of ASCE’s 2026 New Faces of Civil Engineering. A senior project engineer in Los Angeles, Sam has contributed to more than 80 transportation projects totaling over $250 million, with a focus on pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure.

“As a born and raised Angelino, I get to do impactful projects that improve my community’s quality of life, some even a short bike ride away from home” says Sam. His work reflects a commitment to building safer, more connected communities while advancing multimodal solutions in a region known for its car-centric culture. Beyond his technical achievements, Sam is deeply dedicated to mentorship and service. A passionate musician and marching band volunteer, he brings the same passion and leadership to ASCE, where he has served in multiple roles supporting students and younger members at the local and national levels.

Sam’s goal is simple but powerful: to leave his community better than he found it. “My ASCE journey has blessed me with meeting so many amazing people, faces, and projects,” he says. “I know ASCE has so much more in store for me”

We congratulate Sam on this well-earned recognition and invite you to read the full ASCE feature and watch his video to learn more about his journey and impact.
