Overview

The UC Davis Teaching and Learning Complex provides students with a unique instructional and meeting space intended to accommodate the university’s growing student population. The 101,663 GSF facility can accommodate roughly 2,000 students in its ~20 lecture and instructional spaces and its multiple indoor and outdoor meeting spaces. Amenities include an outdoor stadium seating area, small, medium, and large classrooms that can be reconfigured, campus integrated bicycle path, a bicycle parking area, campus bus drop-off area, and collaborative learning spaces with whiteboards, study spaces, and discussion nooks. BKF provided the civil engineering design services associated with the project including design development, preparation of construction documents, and construction support.

This building will set a precedent for future development on the Davis Campus and will be a hub for student study and gathering to extend learning beyond the classroom and beyond the building into the surrounding landscape.
