Overview

BKF is serving as the civil engineer for the Road D39 over Traver Canal Box Culvert Replacement project for the County of Tulare, one of three structures being upgraded as part of a regional bridge‑replacement effort. The existing culvert, originally constructed in 1918, is nearly a century old and conveys flows managed by the Alta Irrigation District. Located just north of the community of Traver, the structure is a three‑span continuous reinforced concrete slab bridge supported on spread footings and is now reaching the end of its service life.
BKF prepared roadway design plans, utility‑relocation plans, and traffic‑control and construction‑staging plans to support the replacement effort. Additional services included hydraulic analysis, detailed coordination for required utility relocations, and truck‑turning analysis to ensure safe and efficient construction access and long‑term operational performance.
