Terremark Data Center

Overview

BKF Engineers provided comprehensive civil engineering and surveying services for the redevelopment of Verizon Terremark’s existing buildings at 3000, 2970, and 2930 Corvin Drive in Santa Clara, transforming the site into a modern data center campus. The project required strategic upgrades to utility infrastructure, site circulation, and environmental systems to support new mission-critical operations.

BKF led the design and coordination of new utility systems, including underground fuel storage tanks and electric line routing, tailored to meet the demands of high-performance data center operations. Our team supported environmental approvals and guided the project through all design phases (Schematic Design (SD), Design Development (DD), Construction Documents (CD), and Construction Administration (CA)) ensuring technical precision and regulatory compliance.

Due to the potential presence of archaeological resources at the site, grading design to limit cut amounts and depth were critical to the project schedule.

Surveying and mapping services included a Lot Line Adjustment to merge two adjacent parcels, streamlining site management and enabling efficient infrastructure planning. BKF collaborated closely with City Planning and Engineering staff throughout the entitlement process, facilitating timely approvals and maintaining alignment with municipal standards.

To optimize site functionality, BKF conducted pedestrian and vehicular circulation analysis and provided recommendations to enhance access and flow. Sustainability was a key focus, with C.3 stormwater compliance achieved through the integration of rain gardens and other environmentally responsible design features.

Additionally, BKF designed a 400-foot off-site storm drain line extension to improve site drainage and support long-term resilience. This project reflects BKF’s ability to deliver integrated, high-performance infrastructure solutions for complex data center redevelopments in Silicon Valley’s dynamic urban environment.
