BKF provided civil engineering design for the Palo Alto Medical Foundation’s Ambulatory Surgery Center and adjacent parking structure in Fremont, a project centered on sustainability and enhanced patient access. The development features a new 20,000‑square‑foot, single‑story Ambulatory Surgery Center supported by a three‑story, 216‑stall parking garage. BKF’s work included designing site and utility improvements, upgrading circulation around the facility, and removing accessibility barriers to create a more inclusive and user‑friendly environment. All improvements were designed to meet California Green Building Standards Code requirements, supporting the project’s commitment to environmentally responsible healthcare infrastructure.
