BKF provided civil engineering and surveying services for the transformation of Santana Row, a 42‑acre former auto mall and strip center reimagined as a vibrant urban village. This award‑winning development blends shopping, dining, residences, offices, a boutique hotel, and a cinema within a walkable street network framed by plazas and linear parks. BKF played a central role in the master planning of all transportation and on‑site infrastructure improvements, coordinating closely with developers, design partners, multiple jurisdictions, and stakeholders.
From early permitting through final construction, BKF worked directly with the City of San Jose and the project team to deliver a cohesive mixed‑use environment featuring 700,000 square feet of commercial space, 320,000 square feet of retail, more than 1,200 podium‑style apartments and condominiums, a 214‑room hotel, and a six‑screen cinema. The project’s multi‑modal design prioritizes pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicular circulation while integrating generous public spaces that anchor Santana Row as one of the region’s most successful and acclaimed lifestyle destinations.
