The eastern portion of the San Francisco Day School property and adjacent residential building were both demolished, and a new 16,500 sq. ft. facility was constructed to expand the school’s art and innovation spaces. The facility provides a rooftop garden, dedicated performance and gathering space, enhanced outdoor play areas, space for music instruction and rehearsal, and seven units of affordable housing for school staff and faculty. BKF provided the civil engineering design services associated with the project including new frontage improvements, a new sidewalk, and existing driveway closure.
