BKF provided environmental planning, permitting, technical analyses, and CEQA support services for the Sewer Authority Mid-Coastside Force Main Replacement Project along the California coast in San Mateo County. The project involved replacement of critical wastewater infrastructure utilizing both trenchless and open-trench construction methods within the Highway 1 corridor between Moss Beach and El Granada.
BKF’s multidisciplinary team supported project delivery through environmental review, permitting coordination, biological and cultural resource services, geotechnical coordination, surveying, and civil design support. Services included preparation of environmental documentation, agency coordination, permit management, technical studies, and public and stakeholder outreach efforts necessary to advance the Force Main Replacement through design and implementation. BKF’s approach emphasized proactive coordination and regulatory compliance while supporting infrastructure resiliency and minimizing impacts to the surrounding coastal environment.
