Pacific Gas and Electric selected Winters, California as the site for its new state‑of‑the‑art Gas Training Facility, a campus designed to support classroom instruction, technical teaching, and full‑scale field training. BKF provided comprehensive mapping, surveying, and civil engineering design services to support development of the facility and its specialized training infrastructure.
The 40‑acre campus features a 65,000‑square‑foot Learning Center, an 11,000‑square‑foot Transmission and Distribution Training Center, and an 18,000‑square‑foot weld laboratory. BKF also supported the design of an on‑site excavation training area, enabling PG&E to conduct hands‑on simulation and certification exercises that closely replicate real‑world field conditions. Together, these facilities play a critical role in training and preparing utility personnel to maintain and improve California’s gas delivery network.
