BKF provided civil engineering support for the Palo Alto Medical Foundation’s highly sustainable medical campus in San Carlos. The 18‑acre development includes a 110‑bed inpatient hospital, a 153,000‑square‑foot clinic building, and a 396,000‑square‑foot above‑grade parking structure. BKF’s work encompassed the design of the loop access road and associated parking areas, along with new on‑site sewer, storm, and water utility systems. Stormwater treatment measures were integrated throughout the site to support the project’s sustainability goals and ensure compliance with local and regional water‑quality requirements.
