Overview

BKF provided environmental compliance and biological support services for the Pajaro Dunes Seawall Repair Project in Watsonville, California, which restored and reinforced approximately 1,900 linear feet of coastal rock revetment protecting the Pajaro Dunes community from erosion and storm damage. The project involved work within sensitive coastal and dune environments adjacent to State Parks property, requiring careful coordination to minimize environmental impacts while supporting timely seawall repairs.

BKF’s environmental services included pre-construction biological surveys, biological monitoring, and restoration planting support throughout construction activities for the Seawall Repair. The team helped ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulatory requirements by monitoring sensitive habitat areas, supporting protection measures for coastal resources and special-status species, and overseeing restoration efforts within disturbed areas. BKF also coordinated closely with the project team to support phased construction activities, erosion and sediment control measures, and environmentally responsible implementation practices that minimized impacts to the surrounding coastal environment while maintaining shoreline protection for the Pajaro Dunes community.
