OneLegacy, located in Azusa, California is the largest transplant donor recovery center in the nation. Built as a donor recovery facility and laboratory, the project included seven intensive donation care unit beds, seven operating rooms, full-service diagnostic imaging, and laboratory services as well as therapy rooms for donor families. BKF Engineers was responsible for providing preliminary civil engineering design services on this Design-Assist project for the construction of a 45,000 sq. ft. addition to an existing industrial office building (90,000 sq. ft. total) to include a medical office, and laboratory rooms, along with a new conference center with a specially designed helipad on the rooftop, and a detached multi-story parking structure. Scope of work included offsite street improvements and water main extensions, along with onsite underground water quality infiltration basins. BKF also provided Land Surveying Services including survey control, boundary, aerial, supplemental topo, plats & legals, right-of-way dedication, construction staking, and engineering support including As-Builts.
