BKF developed concept plans for Park Site 23 to demonstrate how stormwater treatment volumes could be metered and pumped into a series of bioswales and bioretention facilities to comply with C.3 stormwater quality requirements. In collaboration with the developer and the City of San Francisco, BKF also prepared a comprehensive Stormwater Management Plan outlining system performance, regulatory compliance, and long‑term maintenance considerations.
The proposed system incorporated eight submersible pumps designed to efficiently move stormwater through Low Impact Design (LID) features, providing channel protection, enhancing shoreline resilience, and improving overall site hydrology. Additional elements included new storm drain pipelines, integrated trash‑capture measures, and shoreline protection strategies to support sustainable site development and water‑quality goals.
