The City of McMinnville is enhancing its downtown core through the NE Third Streetscape Improvement project. Covering nine blocks of McMinnville’s historic main street, this initiative focuses on reconstructing streets and sidewalks, upgrading aging infrastructure, and improving the pedestrian experience. A multidisciplinary design team, led by BKF, has been chosen to advance the design, support local businesses, and involve the community in shaping the project’s outcomes. This effort aims to preserve the vibrant, diverse, and independent business community, where local ownership and a commitment to authenticity ensure a unique and rewarding experience that is distinctively McMinnville.
Project includes final refinement of the preferred design concept, survey, and engineering for all nine blocks of the project, underground infrastructure evaluation and design in coordination with the city utility providers, environmental assessment, urban arborist recommendation for potential preservation of the existing trees, development of a business resiliency plan to help businesses survive the construction project, and significant public engagement.
