BKF supported the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in advancing the Livermore Valley Open Campus (LVOC) Master Plan, a major initiative designed to foster collaboration and innovation between laboratory researchers and private industry. Our work began with a comprehensive investigation and analysis of existing site conditions, evaluating the capacity and limitations of current infrastructure. This foundational effort informed the preparation of master plans for the 120‑acre campus expansion, which includes approximately 2.9 million square feet of planned facilities.
BKF developed infrastructure strategies that address utility needs, roadway improvements, sustainability objectives, and the long‑term impacts of the site’s growth. As part of the planning process, the team conducted interviews with key personnel to gather essential data, ensuring that the recommended improvements aligned with operational goals and supported the campus’s vision for future scientific and technological advancement.
