BKF is providing civil engineering services for the redevelopment of Long Beach City College LAC Building E, a two-story facility originally constructed in 1968. The project evolved from a renovation into a complete replacement, delivering a modern 47,000 SF building. Our team is handling site grading, paving, ADA-compliant parking upgrades, wet utility connections, and stormwater quality features, ensuring the new facility will be functional, code-compliant, and environmentally responsible.
We will guide the project through every phase, from feasibility analysis and schematic design to construction documentation and bid support. BKF is coordinating utility research, preparing grading and drainage plans, and developing Low Impact Development (LID) strategies to meet NPDES requirements. Our technical specifications and design solutions will adhere to local standards while supporting sustainable and efficient site development.
Throughout construction of the LAC Building E, BKF will manage agency reviews, permit submittals, and field coordination, helping to keep the project on schedule and on budget. By combining technical expertise with innovative civil engineering practices, we will be a part of delivering a redevelopment that enhances campus infrastructure and creates a safer, more functional space for students, faculty, and the community.
