Overview

The Kaiser Permanente San Rafael Emergency Department Replacement project, located within the San Rafael Medical Center, included construction of a new 17,550‑square‑foot emergency department featuring 18 private treatment rooms and a centrally located nurses’ station. BKF provided topographic surveying and civil design services, including design of site utilities for storm drain, sanitary sewer, domestic water, and fire water systems. The project scope also included installation of a new mechanical yard, permanent on‑site stormwater quality measures, and relocation of existing accessible parking stalls to accommodate the expanded emergency department.
