Overview

While initiated to comply with the state‑mandated earthquake safety retrofit requirements, the Kaiser Oakland project leveraged the opportunity to create an expanded and integrated healthcare campus, anchored by a new 12‑story, 349‑bed hospital tower as its iconic centerpiece. Developed on a 7‑acre site, the campus also includes a 229,000‑square‑foot medical office building, a 12‑story parking garage, and a central utility plant to support hospital operations. Infrastructure improvements include construction of a stormwater pump station and approximately 800 linear feet of offsite storm drain, along with bioretention planters and media filters designed to treat stormwater runoff. The project is designed in compliance with the Green Guide for Health Care.
