Overview

BKF completed multiple civil engineering and surveying projects over a four‑year period at the 41‑acre South Sacramento Medical Center, supporting significant campus upgrades and new medical facilities. Our work included construction documents for a new outpatient surgery center, an emergency department expansion, a new chiller plant, an outpatient trauma clinic, a boosted fire line system, and a new helipad. BKF also supported the project architect throughout the City of Sacramento’s review and approval process.

During plan check, the City identified the need for stormwater treatment, prompting BKF to lead coordination directly with the City’s water resources department. Our team successfully designed and implemented a cost‑effective stormwater treatment solution that met regulatory requirements and supported long‑term site functionality. BKF’s services included surveying and preparation of site design documents for demolition, utility relocation, grading, drainage, stormwater treatment, new utility services, and accessibility improvements—helping the medical center expand critical services and infrastructure efficiently and responsibly.
