Kaiser South Sacramento Emergency Department & Outpatient Clinic

BKF completed several projects at the 41-acre South Sacramento Medical Center. Within a 4-year period, BKF completed construction documents for the construction of a new outpatient surgery center, an emergency department expansion, a new chiller plant, a new outpatient trauma clinic, a new boosted fire line system, and a new helipad. BKF provided support to the project architect during the review and approval process with the City of Sacramento. However, during the plan check process, the need for storm water treatment was identified. At that point, BKF took the lead and coordinated directly with the City of Sacramento’s water resources department to successfully design and implement a cost effective storm water treatment solution. BKF provided surveying and site design documents for demolition, utility relocation, grading, drainage, storm water treatment, new utility services, and accessibility.
