Isaac R. Montanez Elementary & Middle School

BKF provided civil engineering services for the development of the Isaac R. Montanez Elementary & Middle School, also known as Lone Tree School, in Brentwood, California. This project involved the construction of a new TK–8 Elementary & Middle School campus on a previously undeveloped greenfield site, designed to accommodate the educational needs of a growing community.

The new campus featured a full range of facilities, including daycare spaces, classrooms for both elementary and middle school students, administrative offices, a kitchen, a multipurpose room, and a library. BKF played a key role in the planning and design of the campus layout to ensure functionality, safety, and long-term flexibility.

Site development included athletic fields, such as soccer and baseball fields, as well as playgrounds, play yard areas, basketball courts, student and bus drop-off zones, and multiple parking lots. These elements were designed to enhance the overall student experience and support daily school operations.

As part of the off-site improvements, BKF also engineered the widening of Smith Road and completed frontage enhancements along Big Basin Drive. These improvements were critical to ensuring safe and efficient traffic circulation around the campus.

This project reflects BKF’s commitment to delivering high-quality civil engineering solutions for public education facilities, helping create a safe and accessible environment for students, staff, and the surrounding community.
