The Highway 101 Pedestrian/Bicycle Bridge includes a new bridge over U.S. 101 and West and East Bayshore Roads, a trail connection along Adobe Creek to East Meadow Drive, sidewalk improvements, and landscaping and habitat restoration within the Palo Alto Baylands and along the Adobe Creek riparian corridor. The 12-foot wide pathway links the nearby technology and research-based companies, and provides improved access to regional trails. BKF provided the civil engineering design services associated with the project, including assistance with obtaining permits and CEQA and NEPA clearance, frontage road modifications for ADA-compliant ramp connections, and design that mitigates riparian and wetland impacts.
