Helen Diller Anchor House

The Helen Diller Anchor House is a 500,000-sf. transformative project that will set a new standard for student residential living and help transfer students to thrive academically, socially, and culturally. BKF provided survey services, schematic design, entitlements, and construction documents for the certified LEED Gold building. The housing includes 244 apartments with individual bedrooms for 772 students.

Just one block from campus, Helen Diller Anchor House represents a significant step in addressing the student housing crisis at Berkeley, where a significant percentage of our students are not able to live on or near campus. The building required no public funds to construct or operate, and net income generated by the property will fund scholarships for undergraduates from underrepresented populations and first-generation college students.

This project has won the following awards:

  • PCBC – 2025 Gold Nugget Award of Merit – May 13, 2025
