Genentech’s Edge café is located on the Bay Trail, stretching along the edge of the San Francisco Bay. Along with serving food to employees, The Edge provides space for indoor and outdoor communal gatherings and includes amenities such as basketball, bocce ball, and shuffleboard courts, as well as a putting green. BKF provided civil engineering design services on the project, which included multiple design challenges involving the site’s proximity to the Bay, BCDC, roadway and pedestrian issues.
