Overview

BKF supported the award‑winning, LEED Silver–certified East Contra Costa County Courthouse replacement project, an expansion designed to increase the County’s capacity to serve the growing communities of Pittsburg, Antioch, Oakley, and Brentwood. The new facility consists of a two‑story, 72,000‑square‑foot building that provides modernized court services and improves accessibility for residents across the region.

As part of the civil engineering scope, BKF delivered comprehensive stormwater management solutions, including several bioretention facilities integrated throughout the site to meet sustainability and water‑quality requirements. The project also included the design of a 200‑stall surface parking lot to accommodate staff and visitors while supporting overall site circulation. Together, these improvements contribute to a high‑performing civic facility that aligns with long‑term environmental and operational goals.
