BKF provided civil engineering services in response to PG&E’s 2010 transmission line explosion, supporting both the immediate emergency needs and the long‑term reconstruction of critical community infrastructure. Following the incident, BKF assisted with emergency improvements and interim utility modifications to stabilize the area and restore essential services. The long‑term recovery effort included comprehensive street and infrastructure upgrades, the design of a new 30‑inch gas transmission main, installation of 12,000 linear feet of water main, construction of a new 10‑inch sewer main, and completion of a 120‑foot bore‑and‑jack crossing. BKF’s work helped rebuild and modernize the impacted neighborhood’s utility systems, ensuring resilience, safety, and reliable service for the community.
