The $35M facility will process approximately 4,500 acre-feet per year of groundwater, producing about 3,800 acre-feet of drinking water per year. The resulting brine waste of approximately 700 acre-feet per year will be discharged to the Calleguas Regional Salinity Management Pipeline (SMP), Phase 2C. The SMP conveys brine waste to the Pacific Ocean.
The North Pleasant Valley Desalter project site is located within the 4.7-acre treatment plant and will treat brackish groundwater for use as potable water.
