Chabot College Library

BKF Engineers played a pivotal role in the award-winning Chabot College Library project, by providing both Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSD) and Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP) services. The project involved constructing a new four-story, 20,000-square-foot library in the heart of the campus, along with associated improvements to hardscape, landscape, utilities, fire access roads, and on-site stormwater treatment areas. Given the central location, BKF collaborated closely with the field team to minimize disruption to daily campus activity, ensuring a smooth and efficient construction process.

BKF’s team of dually certified QSDs and QSPs brought expert knowledge of the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and Construction General Permit (CGP) to the field. Our in-house CGP Trainer of Record provided hands-on training to field personnel, covering BMP installation, maintenance, common compliance issues, monitoring protocols, and proper use of water quality testing equipment. Throughout the Chabot College Library project, BKF emphasized rigorous documentation and proactive communication, helping to maintain regulatory compliance and support the project’s successful delivery.

This project has won the following awards:
