Catholic Charities Caritas Center

The Catholic Charities Caritas Center project on is the result of a BKF partnership with Pyatok to provide civil engineering and survey services for redeveloping properties surrounded by Morgan Street, Seventh Street, A Street, and 6th street in Santa Rosa, California. With a current phase value of $120 million, the new 47,848-square-foot three-story facility is a comprehensive support services center addressing the homeless concerns of the neighboring community. Operated by Catholic Charities, Caritas Center is the largest facility of its kind in Sonoma County. The center has a 192-bed family shelter, childcare facilities, chapel space, and a healthcare clinic. There are also 38 recuperative beds for people recently discharged from hospital. A “drop-in” center allows non-residents access to shower and laundry facilities, mailboxes, and bike and storage lockers. They may also meet with case workers. With improvements to the site, structure, and services offered, Caritas Center will provide long-term solutions to permanent housing and neighborhood safety. Caritas Center opened in late 2022 for public use and is already changing the lives of the most vulnerable populations within the community.

BKF is proud of our contribution to a successful project that benefits the community. This project has also been a recipient of the following awards:
