The California Shakespeare Theater project included demolition of seven existing site structures and construction of a new 8,000 sq. ft. LEED Gold certified building on a hillside site. Environmentally sensitive, the construction of the project is a slab on grade with wood framing, structural steel support, cast-in-place concrete walls, and a living roof. Excavation to the hillside at the site was performed to create space for the basement-level undercroft of the new building. New site improvements included a fire suppression system, a new 50,000 gal fire water tank, new transformer, paving, site concrete, landscaping and site lighting.
