Burgess Park Play Area

Overview

The Burgess Park Play Area Improvement project in Menlo Park, California, delivered a revitalized and more accessible recreational space for the community. The project included a new playground sign, updated benches and picnic tables, enhanced fencing with decorative laser-cut oak leaf panels, and modern play equipment designed to create a welcoming and engaging environment for park visitors.

BKF provided civil engineering and surveying services to support the redesign of the play area. Our team focused on maintaining existing park features while improving accessibility and overall user experience. The scope of work included detailed field surveying of the playground area to document utilities, trees, sidewalks, ramps, curbs, fences, and property lines. Additional services involved utility locating and a peer review of grading and drainage plans to support path-of-travel improvements surrounding the new play area.

Through thoughtful design coordination and technical expertise, the Burgess Park Play Area Improvement project enhances safety, accessibility, and enjoyment for families and visitors throughout the community.
