At 16, Jason started his career journey working two jobs: stocking groceries and working in the parts department at a car dealership. These jobs satisfied his strong work ethic until Jason’s Uncle introduced him to surveying in the summer between his junior and senior years at high school and from that point he knew he wanted to be a Land Surveyor.
After graduating high school, Jason fully committed to surveying and enrolled at Western Kentucky University. He graduated with a major in geology with two minors in surveying and GIS.
Jason graduated in 2007 and moved to California and secured an opportunity at BKF Engineers, interviewing for a crew chief position. This role allowed him to gain valuable field and office experience before taking the Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) exam.
To Jason, his greatest achievement is not one particular project but the ability to support all projects with surveying services. The collaboration between the survey and civil teams is something he looks forward to on a daily basis. He takes great pride in serving both internal and external clients, always striving to meet their needs with the utmost professionalism and precision.
Throughout his career, Jason has learned the importance of focusing on priorities and allowing others to help. He acknowledges that he wouldn’t be where he is today without the support of his team and the mentors who have guided him along the way. Family also holds a special place in Jason’s heart. One of his favorite times of day is drinking coffee and reading with his wife. The support and encouragement of his wife, family, and friends has been instrumental in his surveying success.
