When Emily joined BKF, she expressed a keen interest in proposals, marketing, and communications. In her current role, Emily focuses on developing winning proposals for the Land Surveying team and spearheading internal communication projects. BKF provides a platform for Emily to work in areas she is passionate about, contributing to projects that positively impact our community and enhancing the employee experience.

As an avid cyclist, one of Emily’s memorable achievements is her involvement in the Santa Clara Lafayette Street Bikeway/Pavement project. Her passion for cycling made this project win especially meaningful. Additionally, Emily plays a vital role in the Communications team, crafting messages that align with BKF’s mission and values, and supporting the various employee benefits we offer. Her contributions to internal communications allow her to express her creative side and graphic talents, making BKF a Great Place to Work™ for her colleagues.

Emily’s career began in a print shop, where she served as the in-house graphic designer, honing her skills in layout design—a foundation she built during college. A major milestone in her career was joining BKF, a move she describes as “stepping up” her professional game. Her expertise in page layout, graphic design, writing, and creative thinking made her an ideal fit for a marketing role at BKF.

Committed to enhancing her marketing skills and personal growth, Emily thrives on learning from the engineers at BKF. Engaging in conversations that deepen her knowledge and spark her curiosity, she finds mastering the AEC industry’s terminology, processes, and project management both challenging and rewarding.
