Unhappy in his previous role, David sought more than just a job, he craved a fulfilling career with growth opportunities. Enter BKF Engineers where David was presented with a career-changing opportunity. Since joining BKF, David has found his ideal position and thrives in his role as a Stormwater Technician. David’s main responsibility is to go out into the field and make sure that the General Contractors are following all the requirements and guidelines as specified in the SWPPP. Supported by BKF’s leadership, David is currently studying for his CESSWI certification which will allow him to then take the QSP course and exam.

Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans are important tools for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and protecting water quality by minimizing the impact of construction and industrial activities on the surrounding environment and BKF has been providing these QSD services to clients for over 10 years. A QSD is an individual (typically a Licensed Civil Engineer) who has been certified or qualified to develop, implement, and oversee SWPPPs for construction sites or industrial facilities. Over time the sheer number of projects that required Stormwater Inspection Services grew to a point that a dedicated Stormwater Technician was required to ensure that BKF was able to continue the growth of this service, that is where David Busch began his tenure with BKF Engineers.

David would not be where he is today in BKF without the support from our leadership team, where he describes his direct supervisor as the best boss he has ever had. She is always there when he needs her but not overbearing or micromanaging. He feels like he can present an idea and she will always support and help it along. His supervisor and team is always there to answer any question, big or small, which to David is important when you are starting your career or new to a company.  

Outside of work, David finds comfort in his family and his roots. His mother’s support fuels his drive for continuous improvement, instilling in him the values of hard work and perseverance. A true cowboy at heart, David cherishes moments spent horseback riding and participating in rodeos, embracing his passions beyond the workplace.
