Alyssa brings a thoughtful mix of technical know-how, team leadership, and genuine enthusiasm to her role as BKF’s Local Office Leader in San Francisco. Born in Hawaii and raised in Pleasant Hill, she’s always been drawn to problem-solving. It was a high school environmental science class that really set things in motion, sparking an interest in sustainable design and steering her toward a career in civil and environmental engineering.

She earned her degree from UC Davis with a focus on green design, and since then, she’s built a career around shaping more sustainable and connected communities. Alyssa joined BKF in 2015 and quickly made her mark, playing a key role in some of the firm’s most notable projects, including the Google Bay View Campus. She thrives in complex, collaborative environments and enjoys working with diverse teams to bring creative solutions to life.

Today, Alyssa is focused on growing BKF’s San Francisco office—hiring top talent, strengthening client relationships, and offering expertise on the city’s unique permitting landscape. She’s also navigating the evolving post-2020 development world, keeping an eye on shifting market conditions and helping clients rethink how space and design can meet new needs.

Outside of work, Alyssa is a traveler, hiker, adventurer, and proud dog mom. She’s always up for a new adventure—whether that means discovering a hidden trail or exploring a different culture. She also cares deeply about helping others grow, especially women in engineering. Through her leadership in the Women of BKF group, she’s been a strong advocate for inclusion and mentorship across the firm.

Whether she’s leading a project team, welcoming new hires, or planning her next trip, Alyssa approaches it all with energy, intention, and a deep commitment to making an impact.
