Rebuilding After Wildfire Devastation
Shortly after the October 2017 wildfires, a small group of designers, architects, builders, and community leaders assembled to begin rebuilding efforts. “Homes for Sonoma” formed to provide high quality, short-term, sustainable housing for fire victims, as well as help meet the need for long-term affordable housing in Sonoma County.
As a proud supporter of Homes for Sonoma, BKF has volunteered to provide the permitting and civil engineering design services associated with the planning and construction of reassembled homes in Sonoma. Along with local officials, fire survivors, and members of the design/build team, we gathered at Kendall Jackson Wine Estate & Gardens on October 4 to unveil the first completed modular home.
