Ian Carpenter graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and joined our Santa Rosa team in 2017, where he worked until 2020. After a year’s time he returned to BKF, and works on mainly commercial, residential, and K-12 education projects. His decision to return to the firm was influenced by a desire to reconnect with the co-workers he had enjoyed working with so much, as well as reaping the benefits of “big company” perks, but with a close-knit office feel. He also says the types of projects which BKF works on are very appealing and the recent adoption of flexible work weeks (hybrid work weeks) is great and allows for both office work days and remote work days. Having the option to do both seamlessly is a powerful and useful tool/benefit.
