BKF welcomes Lena Dumler

We are pleased to announce that Lena Dumler has joined BKF’s Walnut Creek office as an Engineering Manager. She has a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Davis, and over seven years of experience in land development including multi-family residential, single-family residential, commercial, and infill projects. She is a registered professional engineer in California and also a LEED Green Associate, working toward LEED AP.

Her past experience includes work on the new Tercero Dining Commons at UC Davis, multiple projects at Sacramento International Airport, mixed-use infill projects in midtown Sacramento, and several large apartment projects in Davis. She has extensive experience with Low Impact Development (LID) strategies for stormwater capture.

In particular, Lena is excited and passionate about mentoring younger staff; especially women in the profession. She has experience mentoring elementary- and middle school-aged students in STEM. She volunteers weekly with the Berkeley Food Bank, where she packages food for neighbors in need. Prior to her professional career, she served as a civil engineering intern in Atenas, Costa Rica, where she assisted with a campus master plan for an under-served high school in Honduras.
