Michael, originally from Washington, spent his formative years in the Pacific Northwest until age nine, shaping his sense of home. Transitioning to Walnut Creek in 10th grade, he found a lasting home that remains central to his life.

Graduating with a B.S. in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, Michael joined BKF in 2009. For him, civil engineering’s appeal lies in its dynamic nature, involving collaboration with people, and clients, and a focus on business development.

At BKF, Michael concentrates on commercial, residential, and land development projects. The Phase I Alameda Point project, with its complexity and positive community impact, stands out as his favorite endeavor, showcasing both technical expertise and a passion for community spaces, including bike trails for his children.

Beyond work, Michael is a dedicated family man, coaching soccer, enjoying weekend trips, and prioritizing family time. As a sports enthusiast, he engages in trail running, biking, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, training 3-5 days a week.

Looking forward, Michael envisions his role in BKF’s development as an exciting journey. Rather than focusing on a legacy project, he emphasizes contributing to team growth and being part of the leadership guiding the future. Michael’s steadfast commitment to BKF’s success reflects his genuine passion for the field and the community it serves.
