Doug Fleming, JD, brings over 25 years of combined experience in grants, project and community funding, legal, government, and nonprofit consulting experience to BKF. This includes organizational development, grant writing, grant management, and strategic planning for public agencies, local governments, and private nonprofits. Doug also excels in funding strategy development for large and complex projects, as well as developing funding plans with a wide range of compatible grant opportunities from federal, state and foundation funders.

Doug holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vassar College and a Juris Doctorate degree from Northwestern University School of Law. Doug brings a unique and invaluable suite of tools, having practiced as a corporate finance attorney, that will benefit BKF’s clients. His legal training enhances the level of technical writing required in preparing winning grant applications.

Doug’s commitment to our communities is exemplified through his public services involvement and support of charitable organizations. He currently serves the City of Nevada, CA as Mayor, the Food Bank of Nevada County as President of the Board of Directors, and the Miner’s Foundry and Cultural Center as a Board Member. An avid outdoorsman, you can find Doug frolicking in the Sierras with his family when he’s not crafting innovative proposals for his clients.
