Peter Wijsman leads BKF’s Infrastructure Solutions Division, which spans both the Transportation and Water Market Sector. In this, he brings forward his experience and passion in providing water resilience and sustainable mobility solutions to his clients. His professional career began in the Netherlands and took shape in the U.S. following Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.. He has since led complex infrastructure projects across the nation of which many are in the Western United States.
Known for his collaborative leadership style and people-first approach to solving complex challenges, Peter aligns technical teams with client needs to deliver impactful outcomes. He’s an active community member and serves on boards and committees of several urban planning, environmental, and economic development non-profit organizations. Based in the Bay Area, he enjoys spending time with family, coaching soccer, and mountain biking year-round.

Peter holds a bachelor’s degree in Regional Planning from Inholland University Delft and a master’s in International Land and Water Management from Wageningen University, with research completed in partnership with UC Davis. Prior to BKF, he held leadership roles at a global engineering firm, focusing on strategy, client development, and team growth.
