Over the years, BKF has consistently ranked among ENR’s Top Design Firms, reflecting steady growth and a strong presence across the West. With more than a century of experience in the region, our history is rooted in shaping the infrastructure and communities that define it today.

This recognition reflects the strength of our team and the future we’re building together. BKF was selected by a panel of ENR editors from a group of finalist firms. Some of the factors considered included revenue, vision, operations, culture, current projects, industry contributions, and other impactful initiatives.

BKF has experienced significant growth through its transition from a regional civil engineering and land surveying firm into a scaled platform, modeling both M&A and organic-driven growth strategies. This approach has expanded our ability to deliver complete services in environmental planning, engineering, land surveying, and construction management.

A major step in this evolution was the strategic merger of BKF Engineers and MNS Engineers, which expanded BKF’s footprint to 20+ offices and more than 800 professionals across the Western U.S.

More recently, the partnership with Lotus Water expanded BKF’s water practice by adding specialized water-resources and climate-resilience services. Together, these strategic moves have broadened BKF’s service offerings across transportation, water, government, and land development, while preserving regional expertise and long-standing client relationships.

Complementing these achievements, BKF has made significant investments in talent and leadership development, operational platforms, and systems modernization, including the launch of an enterprise-wide Key Client Program.
