Overview

BKF provided civil engineering services for the installation of a new concrete U‑Channel constructed within the footprint of the existing drainage channel. The project area, a flood control facility serving a 4.6‑square‑mile tributary watershed, required precise engineering to ensure long‑term performance and community protection. The new channel spans approximately 1,800 linear feet, connecting to existing concrete box culverts at its upstream and downstream limits.

The project was executed under a severe time constraint while maintaining compliance with environmental requirements and protecting habitat conditions for state‑ and federally‑listed species. Completion of the U‑Channel improvements also preserved the integrity of Marsh Road, ensuring a safe and reliable route for both motorists and pedestrians.
