BKF provided civil engineering services as part of the Gilead Campus Master Plan, supporting the development of a six‑story office building and a five‑story pilot laboratory building on a 2.4‑acre site in Foster City. The combined 233,000 square feet of office and laboratory space required multi‑phased permit approvals for demolition, rough grading, utilities, and site improvements. BKF designed utility relocations to accommodate the footings for a bridge connection between the two buildings and developed sitewide infrastructure solutions to support the campus expansion. To meet San Mateo County C.3 stormwater requirements, the team incorporated green stormwater management strategies throughout the project, helping Gilead advance its sustainability goals while delivering modern, high‑performance research and office facilities.
